Flying Wishes, Chapter Two

I love to see a lot of prayer flags hanged together.
I love to see that they’re blown by the wind and
the wishes would be spreaded over the Himalayas.

* Traditionally, prayer flags come in sets of five arranged from left to right in a specific order
which are blue, white, red, green and yellow that’s a symbolic of sky/space, air/wind, fire, water and earth, respectively.

As I went to Chiangmai on Songkran Festival. There’re a lot of ‘Tung’ decorated in every temple. They reminded me of Tibetan prayer flags.

* Tung, seen as a hanging flag, is the traditional oblation of Northern Thailand. They’re offerings
to Buddha. People make these and dedicate for
the deceased or for themselves in the next life. There’re many kinds of Tung for using in a specific purpose.

The colors of summer blossom.

Last week, I went to Chiangmai. It’s Songkran
festival, Thai New Year. It’s the first time I
traveled there as a tourist. I rode a bike and
went to many old temples while it’s 38 °C!!!
very very hot!!!

I’ve found that verywhere is yellow. There’re
some plants which only bloom in summer,
such as golden shower tree (Khoon, in Thai).
So I couldn’t wait to shoot them!! : )

Flying High

There’re a lot of seagulls who came form Siberia to
Thailand in every winter. The most popular site to
see them is Bangpoo, in a province next to
Bangkok, about 1.30 hrs by car.

I’ve seen a few photos of Bangpoo on Flickr, then I
went there suddenly. We enjoyed running away
form a lot of seagulls who were flying and shitting
on us!

Then, we went to a restaurant by the sea and had
dinner. It’s all seafood we love!

The mountains which surround Dali. We drove
around, outside the ancient town, seeing
mountains, a cave and Erhai lake. The weather
was great, the sky was blue, so bright and clear.
Unfortunately, it rained in the evening. However,
It’s such an another lovely day : )

A Spring Town

The photo form Dali, China. A small town
surrounded by greenfield, mountains and Erhai
lake, the second biggest lake of China.
Despite winter, I feel that it’s spring.

I really enjoyed travel around Dali. I love to see
an ordinary farmer lifestyle and the lovely
scenery. Everywhere was so beautiful : )
